When the plants were grown at an air temperature of 30/25 °C, the optimum root zone temperature appeared to be 30 °C. WebOptimum root growth occurs at approximately 35°C for subtropical plants, 27.7°C for warm temperate plants, and 20°C for cool temperate plants. There are ranges of temperature within which plants and microorganism can grow and function, but it is important to remember that temperature impacts are not independent for roots and shoots.
