The charge on compliant paper carryout bags will remain 8 cents per bag. The amount of this charge to the customer must be separately stated on the receipt provided to the customer. This charge is retained by the retailer. WebThe minimum fees increase to $0.25 for paper bags and $2 for new reusable bags starting January 1, 2024. The fees are consistent with fees in other BC municipalities , Metro Vancouver’s approach , and provincial regulations, and were in the by-law approved by Council on November 29, 2024.
